Our Athletic Program
Our Lady of Lourdes provides the opportunity for every child who attends the school or belongs to the parish community to participate in team sports. This program promotes self-esteem and respect for others through competition in a Christian manner, with an emphasis on good sportsmanship. Developing knowledge of sports and acquiring the associated athletic skills are the primary objectives of the athletic program at Our Lady of Lourdes. Other objectives are the development of a positive self-image and a sense of teamwork. Winning is inherent to competition and being part of a successful program is important, but winning may not always be the primary objective. There is, however, an obligation to take the game seriously, and for all children to be taught to play to the best of their ability.
For more information about policies and schedules for Catholic elementary athletics, please visit the Catholic School Athletic Association site at www.loucsaa.org.
All athlete families must work 2 shifts in the concession stand or in admissions for each sport their child plays. Please help us keep these games here on our Lourdes campus, so we don’t have to travel for games! If we aren’t able to fill shifts, we won’t be able to host CSAA sports.
