Welcome to Lourdes!

Letter From the Principal
Welcome back to an exciting new school year! Whether your family is returning for another year or joining our K-8 community for the very first time, we are blessed to walk this journey of faith and academic excellence with you. As you pull into the parking lot, you will immediately notice that our campus is a hub of transformation. Our school building and renovation project is in full swing! To beautifully align our physical environment with our spiritual mission, our school-wide theme for this year is “Rooted in Grace, Growing in Faith.” Throughout the school year, we will be using our changing campus as a living parable for our students. Just as construction crews are building and working around us, God’s grace is constantly doing the same work inside our hearts. Grace calls us to extend kindness, offer forgiveness, show compassion, and support one another through both successes and challenges. We are called to both receive God’s gifts and extend grace to ourselves and one another. We fully recognize that navigating a school year alongside a renovation project requires a little extra flexibility. I am most grateful for your partnership, your patience, and your own “grace” as we upgrade our facilities to better serve our children. May this school year be filled with God’s blessings, meaningful friendships, joyful learning, and countless opportunities to grow. We pray that each member of our school community will become more deeply rooted in God’s grace and continue growing in faith every day. Please keep our faculty, staff, students, and construction crews in your daily prayers. We cannot wait to see how God renews both our building and our souls this year!
-Mrs. Morgan Wissing, Our Lady of Lourdes Principal

About Us
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Our Lady of Lourdes School. Since 1950, Our Lady of Lourdes has been dedicated to our mission of assisting its families in the full educational, spiritual, and physical development of their children. Located in the heart of St. Matthews, we are a true neighborhood school.
Administration, faculty, and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes hold themselves to the high standards and expectations associated with the traditions of this Catholic school. Teachers work diligently to prepare innovative and engaging lessons that promote critical thinking and twenty-first century learning driven by the school’s mission of delivering excellent education grounded in Catholic faith and Christian values.
Together with the parish, we work to immerse our students in faith-centered, high-quality education. We are a two-time National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. We prepare our students for the next steps of their lives spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.
By offering special classes like art, music, physical education, technology, Spanish, library, Barton intervention, and enrichment electives, we strive to deliver a well-rounded education. Our 28 full-time teachers, six classroom aides, office staff, and administration all work together to foster a positive learning environment for our children. They are blessed to be here, and we are blessed to have them.
We are anxious to share more about our community with you. We are happy to answer any questions you have via phone or e-mail and to schedule a tour of our building. Let us show you why Our Lady of Lourdes is the right community for your family.

Lourdes is Something Special
Students gathered during a Family Activity to share reasons why they think Our Lady of Lourdes is something special.
“Lourdes teaches us how to follow and be like Jesus. Lourdes brings people, family, and friends together.”
Thank you to the students and staff for telling us why you love Lourdes!
UL Women’s Soccer Team Message to Lourdes
The University of Louisville Women’s Soccer Team visited Lourdes campus and helped us kickoff our first School Family Activity of the year sharing a wonderful message about families! “There are families we are born into and families we get to be a part of. Family is about people that grab you in and show you the way. Ultimately, we are all part of a bigger family and those are our brothers and sisters in Christ.”
THANK YOU to the UL Women’s Soccer Team and Lourdes parent Katie Dudas for making this happen! We love our Lourdes Family! Go Bearcats!
